Who is iron mans arch enemy

The Mandarin would employ several of Iron Man's old foes as part of a larger plot against him, placing him in direct conflict with Tony and the rest of the Avengers on several occasions. Each of the Mandarin's ten rings possesses its own incredible powers, which collectively include the abilities to generate ice blasts, control minds, shoot lightning, generate flame, manipulate gravity, absorb light, disintegrate targets, create whirlwinds, fire concussive blasts and rearrange matter.

In addition to the rings, the Mandarin has accumulated vast resources that rival Stark's and created his own underground criminal empire throughout East Asia. Using his wealth, the Mandarin leads his own private army and often arms himself with advanced technology.

Trained since an early age, the Mandarin is a scientific genius and tactician, with an extensive background in martial arts. While visiting troops in Afghanistan, Tony's military convoy was ambushed, and he was imprisoned for months by a terrorist organization in league with Obadiah Stane named the Ten Rings. The figures would become recurring foes over the years, both as their super-powered personas and within the corporate world, especially as Stark Industries expanded its presence into China and Hong Kong.

The two characters have strong paralleled origins as well: Both Tony and the Mandarin had entered a cave and emerged reborn with advanced technology but while Tony had used his for redemptive good, the Mandarin had used his for domineering conquest. While he isn't always a factor in Iron Man's world, the Mandarin always poses a serious threat to Stark whenever he shows up. In the Iron Man cartoons of both the '60s and the '90s, the Mandarin was the Avenger's main villain, and that reputation has never quite faded away.

As the most recurring and powerful foe in Iron Man's extensive roster of villains, the Mandarin is the clear, true archenemy of Tony Stark. Sam Stone is a 10th level pop culture guru living just outside of Washington, DC who knows an unreasonable amount about The Beatles.
