Why did lynn swann retire
Without, neither are in the HOF. Finding out yesterday that Jimmy Johnson isn't in while Tony Dungy gets in took a lot of gloss off the Hall for me.
Aikman in over certain players is a joke, but when you win that many Super Bowls as a QB you are gonna get in. That is why I said yesterday that if the Drive and the Fumble work out differently Bernie is in the Hall. There is little wonder why Swan would place such significance on team success.
Bradshaw was one of the greatest game manager's of all time! Finding out yesterday that Jimmy Johnson isn't in while Tony Dungy gets in took a lot of glossoff the Hall for me. I hate this line of thinking when it comes to the Hall. Just like with baseball players having to play for 20 years instead of being able to get in by being dominant for a decade. There is a section wherethey honor teams but teams don't get inducted into the Hall, players do. Swann was very good, maybe great.
He played in an era where DBs could beat on a guy until the ball was in the air as opposed to today's 5 yd contact rule. He was smooth and maybe deserves to be where he is but to make comments like that about CJ, well that's just plain stupidity from an old retired guy. Bender: Oklahoma's D faces test against Bears. Freedom of speech at its finest. Every day, when I log onto the site, I check out all the newest Steelers articles, comment when I can, and reply to any comments people have left me. You should read some of them after this one, of course! I read an interesting article from AOL's Fanhouse concerning the retirement of numbers of the legends of the Steelers.
In the article, it is asked, why players that are on the Steelers today are allowed to wear the numbers of some of the Steelers legends, such as Mel Blount, Joe Greene, Lynn Swann, John Stallworth, and others. Since there is no clarity in the article about the reason why, allow me to answer that question for everyone. First off, the Steelers have never retired a number. Steve Largent.
