Who is mike nouveau
For this Fashion Week in Paris it was business as usual. Nothing completely out of the ordinary. Just a lot of really fun gigs all within the same week. Then I think to myself… did they even get this song here?
The Inside Source: What are some of your favorite bands? Any favorite songs that youll always try to play? The Inside Source: What direction do you think menswear fashion trends are headed? Mike Nouveau: I think fashion in general, not just menswear, is obviously heading deeper and deeper into the realms of disposable fashion. I guess there is less and less money to be found in creating beautiful garments that are also constructed well, and made with beautiful materials.
It was simply a way for a stores found in malls to trick fast fashionistas into buying a poorly constructed garment with a designer label on it. I think I just know what it is that I like. Sorry, I had to vent for a second. The Inside Source: When you buy clothes, do you ever shop online? Favorite stores? Mike Nouveau: Yes, I shop online a lot, but I prefer to buy in-person.
The downtown scenester is hiking up his skirt and hunting for a new apartment before his East Village lease runs out. Follow him on his journey! After being holed up in a small Avenue B studio for four years, I've decided to look for a bigger space. At that time it was the cheapest studio apartment I had ever found in Manhattan. It's rent-stabilized, and I figured I would stay for 10 years. Then a funny thing happened: Rents in Manhattan actually started to go down.
I was seeing listings for apartments bigger than mine, for less than I was paying four years ago. So I decided to give up my studio apartment for something bigger. Time to hit Craigslist! The Craigslist ad talked up a hour doorman and amenities that I figured were out of my budget. The broker led me through the building, up some stairs, into a second-floor passage very motel like , and then down again into a courtyard separating what turned out to be two buildings. The two available apartments open right into the courtyard, on the ground floor.
I headed home to unpack and refresh Craigslist. The benefit of jetlag: It gets me out of bed and onto the street at an ungodly early hour.
We literally fought him off, and in the melee, my big toenail was ripped clean off as we tumbled down a flight of stairs. Having the citizenship of an E. Ippudo — Best ramen in the city. Better than Momofuku. IF — One of the first boutiques in Manhattan to carry a lot of my favorite designers; still a classic standby. Tribeca Grand — My friends and I have dinner here once a week. On the weekends, they throw great parties with some of the best D. New Wonton Garden — You can watch them handmake noodles and dumplings in the store window.
All the waiters wear Hawaiian shirts, and cleanliness comes second. Artichoke Pizza — Ever since Five Roses closed, this has been my go-to pizzeria in my neighborhood.
