Throughout the movie we see paintings, statues and reliefs of shirtless and nude men; in paintings rough outlines of male genitals are visible. A man makes a crude sexual joke to a young man in reference to four young women he identified as virgins, saying he would "not mind knowing" the four young women for the night.

A man makes a crude remark to a young man and a young woman, implying that they had previously had sex. A young man says that another young man had been conceived when his mother was raped. A man tells a young man that "his seed" is strong" and he then implies that generations of people will be his offspring.

A woman asks her son if she will have grandchildren before she dies, and the young man jokingly responds that lighting candles will not cause babies to be born. A young man uses an unseen force to explode four masked soldiers into a spray of gore and blood, throwing the last of the four men into a wall with a massive blood spray shown behind his dead and crushed body his head and upper body appear to have been blown away.

A masked soldier slices through a man's face and neck and we see blood splatter from the wounds. We hear a very graphic squishing sound as a man narrates that the young man will never be able to have children -- implying the young man's genitals had been crushed.

A young man uses a knife to cut his arm as he performs a ritual and we see a stream of blood pour from the wound. A man lurches forward, he falls down and we see a knife sticking out of his back and a small amount of blood. If another half hour of dialoge had be in the movie to round out the storyline then it would have been good. The slow motion fighting was pretty good but it was just a take from which we all saw, and the excessive head explosions when the gods were fighting, while cool at first, got kinda old after the first or second time.

They liked "Clash of Titans", but this is so different. The story is set in mythical Greek times, so there are references to Greek gods and other mythological beings and creatures. That said, the hero learns to take moral responsibility in his own life and as a leader of his people. Throughout the movie, mentors and gods inspire him to fight evil and stand up to do the right thing, no matter the cost to himself.

This positive content, however, is marred by a gratuitous level of excessive R-rated violence and some sexual elements and brief nudity in one scene. Despite this polytheistic, non-Christian setting, it abounds with many strongly verbalized and then practiced moral lessons, such as taking on moral responsibility for the protection of your family and people, and of finding courage to do what is right even at the risk of death.

The movie has very strong, excessive fighting violence, however, plus implied sex and brief nudity in one scene.
